Violet Radanovich

Ljubica “Violet” Jurasich was born to a family of eight children in Globe in 1921. During her childhood and teenage years the family moved twice, first to Pennsylvania, and then to New York City. In New York she frequently attended services and events held at Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Church.

There, she met Dusan “Danny” Radanovich whom she married in 1946. Danny remembered that the first time he saw her at a service-he knew he was going to marry her. After birthing two children, Diana then Bob, the new family moved to Miami, AZ.

Vi enjoyed her years working in public as a cashier at Lazovich’s Real Market, Stop and Shop, Safeway and Kim’s Fashion. Violet participated in bowling teams where she consistently outscored many of her friends. She also would knit blankets for relatives while watching shows like Oprah and Dr. Phil. Most relatives and guests in her home will always remember the warmth and concern for comfort she would express toward them during a stay.

Vi was a member of the Emblem Club, Rebekah’s Club, Elks Lodge, and several bowling teams. Violet passed away peacefully in her sleep in Globe on May 25th.

She is survived by her twin sister Helen Vukasovich, her daughter Diana Levy, son Bob, her nephew Milovan, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Lamont’s Mortuary Chapel on May 30, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Donations will be accepted through: Serbian Cemetery – c/o David Rogers - 1525 E. Birch St. – Globe, AZ 85501

Interment will be at Pinal Cemetery/Serbian Section – Central Heights, AZ.
