HOLLENBECK, Sylvia Elizabeth of Erin passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the age of 67. Sylvia was born, April 12, 1948 in Elmira, NY, a daughter to the late Clifford and Elizabeth Goldsmith Jelliff.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Donald R. Hollenbeck; her children, Rebecca (Michael) McNamara and their daughters, Brittany and Courtney, Shannon (Clifford) Kent and three children, Michael, Tawni Shae and Dakota, Ian (Diane) Hollenbeck and daughter Maggie; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Emma Leigh, Liam and Benjamin; her loving four-legged companion, Paddie Cake and a host of friends.

She was very creative and loved her craft projects, gardening and an abundance of wildlife that she attracted to her home. She also enjoyed and always looked forward to touring on their motorcycle and attending motor sport races. Sylvia was also very active in her church and her community. She is already missed by all that knew and loved her.

The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 4PM-7PM with her Funeral Service to follow. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Sylvia may make donations to Erin Methodist Church, PO Box 12, Erin, NY 14838 or CareFirst, 3805 Meads Creek, Painted Post, NY 14870 in her memory.

A special thank you to her church family for all their love and support. Also to her two "special earth-angels"- her nurse angel daughter Shannon and newfound nurse angel Katie Hembrooke through CareFirst for guiding her peacefully and painlessly to the end.

Condolences and words of comfort may be expressed at Sylvia's Book of Memories at www.sullivansfuneralhome.com
