Thomas Wesley Mabry, age 87, of Conway passed away Saturday (March 27, 2004) at his home.

Born Nov. 28, 1916, in Holland, Ark., he was the son of the late Arthur Lee and Nancy Jackson Mabry.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Mabry, Russell Mabry, Earl "Foots" Mabry, Leo Mabry, and his twin brother, James Mabry; and sisters, Lois Yenni, Myrtle Lovelace, Irma Bowman, and Ola Stewart.

Mr. Mabry was a 1936 graduate of Conway High School and played for various pro baseball teams, including the St. Louis Cardinals. He served in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and other service medals. After 35 years, he retired from military service. He was an avid golfer and very active in the youth golf programs in Conway. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Conway.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Faydean Oliver Mabry; a son, Tom Mabry, and wife, Sande; and two grandchildren, Natalye and Kristina Chudy, all of Conway.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway with the Rev. William West officiating. Interment will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
