OBITUARY: Sayre Journal, March 5, 1992 "Charlie Calvin Potter, 103, died sic [March 5, 1992], in the Grand Place Nursing Center of Sayre. Graveside services were held March 3 at the Delhi Cemetery with Coy Potter officiating under the directionof Rose Chapel Runeral Service of Sayre. Mr. Potter, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Nancy Jane Potter, moved with his mother to the Plainview community on Oct 16, 1913. He married Francis Mariah Moss and they moved to Jester. He later entered the US Army where he served during World War I. After his discharge in 1919, he returned to Jester before moving to the Erick area and then to Sayre in 1974. He entered Grand Place Nursing Center in 1974. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Poole of Sayre and Sybil Nickel of LaMont, CA; three sons, Gale, Marshall, and Calvin, all of Fort Worth, TX; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and serveral other relatives and friends."
