Walter F. Blake
WEST POINT - Walter Frank Blake, 85, of West Point, died Thursday night in an Ogden rest home following an extended illess.
Mr. Blake was born March 22, 1880, in Lanc-ashire County, England, a son of Frank and Elizabeth Bone Blake. He was married to Charlotte Isabell King on March 25, 1903,
in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Blake died March 26, 1963, in West Point.
He was an active member of the LDS West Point Ward, a high priest, served in the Sunday School superintendency and as a ward teacher. When he was 2 years of age the family came to South Hooper from England. He had spent most of his life in West Point and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Delbert (Verona) Thurgood, Loy F. Blake, West Point; Grant L. Blake, Roy; Eight grand-children, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one brother and one sister, Gilbert Blake, Heyburn, Idaho; Mrs. Ruby Freight, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the West Point LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Loy F. Blake officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist Clearfield Mortuary Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Burial in-West Point Cemetery.
