Terence D. ''Dan'' Connolly, age 55, of Caldwell, died Thursday, January 13, 2005, at his residence. He was born February 24, 1949, in Little Creek, Calhoun County, West Virginia, son of the late Ralph Cornealious and Etta May Boice Connolly. He was a US Marine Corp veteran, having served in Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart and the Cross of Gallantry with palm leaf. He was a self-employed carpenter, and a member of the Caldwell Eagles, the Caldwell VFW, the Caldwell VFW Post #4721, and the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Vada Lea Kovaleski, Carolyn Rogers, and Irene Connolly, and a twin brother, Gary Connolly.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Darlene Haga Connolly, whom he married May 26, 1969; three sons, Terence D. Connolly, II, Tracy D. (Tammy Long) Connolly, and Travis D. (Dana) Connolly, all of Caldwell; four sisters, Inez Mullins of Athens, Irma Connolly of Caldwell, Ina Blatt of Kent, and Katy Chapin of McConnellsville; two brothers, Frank Connolly of Chatham, Illinois, and Neal Connolly of Caldwell; his mother-in-law, Velma L. Haga of Belle Valley; 8 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call Sunday, January 16, 2005, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the service will be Monday, January 17, at 1PM with Rev. Sanford D. Short officiating. VFW services will be conducted at the funeral home.
