In cemetery records, Edward's grave is in a grouping at Lot 4, Section O, Division C purchased 12/10/1917 by Benjamin B. Shorten. It includes this Edward, and-
Roy K. Shorten (age 11, interred 2/21/1921) - son of Mabel and Benjamin
Gertrude Shorten (2 months, 1/30/1927) - no death cert found
Harry Shorten (18, 4/18/1932) - son of Mabel and Benjamin
I actually don't see him or them with any of my family on the preceding or succeeding pages.
Edward is little documented beyond his death certificate. His birth and death happened before he had a chance to show up on any census.
His death certificate shows him as the son of Ezra A Shorten and Irene Engle, and their names don't connect in a recognizable way to my family. Perhaps my family just allowed the boy to rest in their plot.
Historical newspapers show that there are more than a few Shorton/Shortens (and Foley-s who married into them) buried in Roxborough at Leverington and I hope to find if there is a link with my family eventually.
