She met her husband William Padgett at age 17 and they created a large family.Her main task in life was to help raise her large family and tend to large fields so she could feed them. When her children were of working age they all helped her in the fields. Her heritage is of Cherokee. This tribe was from North Carolina and migrated South to Florida. Margaret is related to Native American Princess Nancy Ward. Nancy's husbands name was Bryan Ward, a trader from South Carolina. The name Bolton is a Native American name. She was very proud of her Native American heritage.
