Dies in Hospital
Harry S. Blake, 76, Porter county pioneer, of RFD 1, Valparaiso, died Sunday at Porter Memorial hospital. He had suffered a heart attack 10 days ago.
The decedent was born in Porter county Dec. 9, 1877, the son of Jarred and Amelia (Beach) Blake, who preceded him in death. He was united in Marriage Dec. 24, 1902 to Ethel Collins, of LaPOrte county.
Surviving are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Walter Green, of Panama City, Fla.; and three sons, Harold, William and James, all of Washington township.. Three sisters and a brother also survive: Mrs. Alice Bryarly and Mrs. Laura Lee, both of Valparaiso; Mrs. Hazel Foerster, Chicago, and Vinton Blake of Valparaiso. Three grandchildren also survive. An infant son preced him in death in 1909.
Funeral services will be held at the LePell Funeral home, Wednesday, at 2 pm with burial in Graceland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday at 2 pm until time of services Wednesday.

Memorial services fpr Harry S. Blake, RFD 1, Valparaiso, who died at Porter Memorial Hospital April 26, after a short illness, were held at the LaPell Funeral Home April 29, with the Rev. Quintin Alforse of the Washington Township Bible church. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.
Miss Mae Brown was the organist and Mrs. Kenneth Williamson sang the solo.
Pallbearers were: Nelson Bull, Fred Bartz, Charles Anders, Maurice Watts, Leon Rigg and Howard Whitcomb.
