Services for Henry C. Gehrk, 73 of Kennard, who died March 8, 1995, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, were held Saturday, March 11, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Burial was in the Kennard Cemetery.
Henry C. Gehrk was born March 25, 1921, at rural Kennard, Nebraska, to Charles and Hilda Fischer Gehrk. He graduated from Kennard High School in 1938.
On July 1, 1942, he married Roma Wolsmann.
In October of 1942 he was inducted into the Army and served in the European Theatre during World War II.
He and Roma moved to Kennard in 1946 and had lived in the same home since that time. He was in the trucking business hauling livestock and other farm products. He retired from the business in 1976.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ronald and son-in-law, Curtis Winn.
He is survived by his wife, Roma of Kennard; a daughter, Sandra Winn; three granddaughters, Tanya Winn, Nichole Winn, Raquel (Mrs. Dan) Carlson and a great-grandson, Gage, all of Fremont; and a sister, Hilda Rasmussen of Blair.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
