AGED MAN FOUND DEAD THURSDAY IN EMHOUSE VICINITY

D. F. Bullock (typo...s/b B. F. Bullock), aged 79 years, long-time resident of Ellis county was found dead in his bed at an early hour Thursday morning at the home of his son J. R. Bullock and wife north of Emhouse.

"Death from natural causes" was the coroner's verdict returned Thursday morning by Judge M. Bryant of Corsicana who, along with Constable W. B. Grantham, viewed the body. Prior to moving to the Emhouse community a few months ago, Mr. Bullock resided in Ellis county for 55 years.

He was apparently in good health. Mr. Bullock accompanied the family to a storm cellar shortly before midnight Wednesday when the rain, wind and electrical storm was in progress, later returning to bed.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Lynch, Frost; Mrs. Ellen Fulkner (s/b Fetner), Italy; four sons, J. R. Bullock and G. D. Bullock, both of the Emhouse Community; Willie Bullock, Milford; and Andrew (s/b Benjamin, Jr) Bullock, Amarillo, and other relatives.

Funeral arrangements had not been learned here early Thursday afternoon.

When Benjamin Franklin Bullock was born in February 1854 in Gilmer, Texas, his father, James Monroe Bullock, was 29 and his mother, Martha Amelia Fuller, was 21.

On 10 Jan 1878, Benjamin married Susan Elizabeth "Lizzie" Henderson in Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas. Benjamin is the son of James Monroe Bullock and Martha Amelia Fuller. Ten months later, their first child, son Joseph Edward Bullock was born on 15 Oct 1878 in Kaufman County, Texas.

In 1880, Benjamin, Susan and their son Joseph were living in Kaufman County, Texas with her parents, William and Martha Henderson and her siblings.

Lizzie and Ben had nine children in 20 years:

Joseph Edward "Joe" Bullock (1878 – 1931) m. Asia Gertrude Marshall

William Monroe "Willie" Bullock (1881 – 1967) m. Letha Lee Rodgers

Martha Amelia "Mattie" Bullock (1882 – 1967) m. James Harvey Lynch

Amanda Ellen "Ellen" "Mandy" Bullock (1887 – 1974) m. Robert Alonzo Leonidas Fetner

Fannie Myrtle Bullock (1888 – 1889)

James Richard "Jimmy" Bullock (1891 – 1969) never married

In 1860, Ben was 6 years old and living in Beeville, Bee, Texas with his parents, James & Martha, and his siblings.

In 1865 & 1870, Benj F. Bullock living with his parents in Lockhart, Caldwell County, Texas.

In 1880, Benjamin Bullock was 25 years old and living in Kaufman County, Texas with his wife, Susan (Lizzie) and their son, Joseph. The young family risided with his wife's parents, William & Martha Henderson and her siblings.

In 1900, he was 45 years old and lived in Hill County, Texas with his wife, Lizzie, 5 sons and 2 daughters.

In 1910, B.F. Bullock, widowed, was 56 years old and lived in Ellis County, Texas with his 4 sons and a daughter.

In 1920, Benjamin F. Bullock was 64 years old and lived in Cooke County, Texas with his son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin, Jr. and Myrtle, and granddaughter, Pauline.

In 1930, Ben F. Bullock was 75 years old and lived in Ellis County, Texas with his 2 sons, Richard and George, and George's wife, Ila.

He died on April 20, 1933, in Emhouse, Texas, at the age of 79. Burial in Milford Cemetery next to his wife Susan in unmarked grave near their daughter Fannie Bullock.
