NAMPA — Services for Fred V. Masterson, 87, of 511 Nectarine St., Nampa, who died Monday in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, by the Rev. Ronald Rodes of Meridian Valley Shepherd Church of the Nazarene. Final services will be conducted Monday in Roscoe, Pa., interment to follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Roscoe.
He was born May 15, 1093, in McConnelsville, Ohio, where he was reared and educated. He married Lillie K. Brown on Sept. 11, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pa. They lived in Brownsville, Pa., and later in Charleroi, Pa., until moving to Needles, Calif., in 1944. They moved to Nampa in December 1979. He worked as a locomotive engineer for Santa Fe Railroad for many years. He was a member of the Christian Church, Elks Lodge, Eagles Aerie, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, all in Needles.
Survivors include his wife of Nampa; two sons, Fred V. Jr. of Reno, Nev., and A.C. of Fort Collins, Colo.; four daughters, Doris L. Dondero of Olympia, Wash., Thelma R. Holland of McKees Rocks, Pa., Eunice Fritch of Nampa, and Marjorie R. Fisk of San Bernardino, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
