CHARLES S. ALLEN, 83, DIES AT LACLEDE Charles S. Allen, 83 of Laclede, died yesterday afternoon at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Laclede Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Laclede Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was born Jan. 5, 1882, west of Mike, in Chariton County, the son of Isaac and Clarissa (DeWeese) Allen. He was married to Iva R. Campbell on Jan. 20, 1902, who died May 29, 1962. On Aug. 30, 1962 he married Icie V. Couch who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. C.W. Singleton, and son, Russell Allen, both of Laclede; a step-daughter, Mrs. Georgia Lark of Laclede; three granddaughters, two step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Billups of Marceline, Mrs. Mary Miller of Lakewood, Colorado, and Mrs. Edna Foster of Laclede; and a brother, William C. Allen of Brookfield.
The body is at the Wright Funeral Home.
