Johnny Allen Blankenship, 42, a resident of Skipperville, AL passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Johnny was born February 8, 1973 in Dale County and lived there his entire life. He attended Vivian B. Adams School in Ozark for 3-4 years. He loved listening to country music on his radio especially the group Alabama and Alan Jackson. He enjoyed drinking Diet Dr. Pepper and would let you know if you tried to slip him anything but the real thing. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Blankenship and his grandparents, O.B. and Mary Grace Tharpe, and Acey and Inez Blankenship.

Survivors include his mother, Marie Blankenship; his brothers, Jason Blankenship and Ashley Blankenship; his sister, Melanie and her husband Tony Hartzog; numerous aunts and uncles.
