Dorothy Bunker was born April 5, 1923, to John and Olga (Larson) Bunker. She was raised and educated in the Sawyer area and graduated from Sawyer High School in 1941. Dorothy attended and graduated from Minot Business College.
Dorothy was united in marriage to William Johnson on October 7, 1945, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. They have made their home in rural Minot since 1945. In 1967, she became employed by Bell School as the Librarian until her retirement in 1992.
She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church of Minot, where she was active in the Rachel Circle and quilting group. Dorothy was also an active volunteer in the Trinity Hospital Auxiliary.
Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, quilting, gardening, cooking, baking, traveling, and reading.
Surviving family includes her loving husband of 60 years Bill; Son: Daryl Johnson of Garrison; Daughters: Vicki (William) Rust, Janie (Tom) Ripplinger, and Shelley (David) Norton all of Minot; (nine) Grandchildren: Corey Johnson, Melissa Rohrbeck, Jennifer Schoffstall, Paul Ripplinger, Aaron Ripplinger, Kristen Schell, Amanda Zietz, Erika Rodenbiker, and Robert Norton; (nine) Great Grandchildren: Tommi Rae Johnson, Xyander Johnson, Katie Rohrbeck, Savannah Ripplinger, Olivia Schoffstall, Zachary, Caitlyn, Mason Zietz, and Elizabeth Rodenbiker; Sisters: Laurel (Bernard) Irwin of Minot and Barbara (Vern) Bauer of Bismarck, ND; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
