Fred R. Trentham, age 82, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 6, 2015, with his wife and son by his side and surrounded by family and friends.

Mr. Trentham was a member of the United States Air Force and was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Magnavox Corporation, and retired as Accounting Office Manager of Newport Utilities. He was a charter member of English Mountain Christian Church where he served as treasurer for 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Graden W. and Ella L. (Holt) Trentham, and brothers and sisters-in-law Roy M. and Eva Trentham, J.H. and Maxine Trentham, Robert Trentham, Graden W. Trentham, Jr., and Curtis Trentham.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth G. Trentham of Newport, son, Donald R. Trentham of Knoxville, Tennessee, sisters-in-law, C.L. Trentham and Lynn Trentham, several nieces, nephews, and his church family at English Mountain Christian Church.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at English Mountain Christian Church, Newport, Tennessee. Mr. Trentham will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Entombment will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Manes Funeral Home.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to English Mountain Christian Church, P.O. Box 201, Newport, Tennessee 37821 or to the Music Ministry of Church Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1303, Knoxville, Tennessee 37901.

The family would like to thank all their friends as well as Avalon Hospice and the Wal-Mart Pharmacy.
