Oren Russell Jarvis, 81, of Keosauqua, Iowa died July 15, 2012 at the Van Buren County Hospital. He was born June 25, 1931 in Bunch, Iowa to James I. and Irene L. Arnold Jarvis. He married Lovetta Law March 4, 1951 in Bloomfield. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Oren worked at Barker Wire in Keosauqua for 31 years. Since his retirement, he drove a school bus for Davis County Schools and also taxied for the Amish. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling, and was a Rifle Club leader for several years.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Russell Jarvis of Troy, Iowa; two daughters, Jeanie Maynard of Juneau, Alaska, Elizabeth Carder of Brighton, Iowa; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Otis Jarvis of Hiawatha, Iowa, Otto Jarvis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Olen Jarvis of Milton, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carolyn Carrico; four grandchildren, Kane Rupe, Sean Carrico, Jason Carrico, Timothy Carrico; three brothers, Oris, Ronald, and Frank Jarvis; and a sister, Beulah Archer.
