He was an owner and engineer in the cable TV industry for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, building gardens, riding his tractor on his farm, and staying active outdoors. He loved to drive motorcycles and cars.
Some favorite memories were Jerry behind the wheel taking his family on cross-country adventures.

His parents; and one brother, Bill Benson.

His wife; two sons: Jerry Jackson (Jack) Benson, Jr. and Terry Andrew Benson; one daughter: Karen Benson Gregg (Steven); four grandchildren: Brandy R. Myers (Joshua), Jerry Jackson Benson, III (Shannon), Jillian Blaik Benson and Taylor Anne Benson; two great-grandsons: Logan Reece and Seth Owen Benson; and one brother: Bob Benson (Lucy).

Funeral service held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell Ayers officiating.
Interment held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2015.
