Mr. Myers was born June 19th, 1925 in Guilford County, a son to the late James Ovid and Ida McNeil Myers. He was a resident of this area all his life, except for the 20 years he spent living in Tennessee. He had worked at Southern Sales and was of the Baptist faith. On December 22nd, 1945 he married the former Opal Barnes who survives of Westchester Manor. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two children, Jessie Lloyd Myers Jr. and Wilma Myers; two sisters, Betty Perdue and Savannah Presswood; and a brother, Gary “Buck” Myers.
Also surviving is a son, Don Myers and wife Adele of High Point; two brothers, Wayne Myers and wife Jean of High Point and Dan Myers of Thomasville; a sister, Vernell Clifton of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Kim Brock and husband Larry of Sanford and Stephen Myers and wife Rebekah of Germany; and two great grandchildren, Gregor and Kylie Brock.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, 405 N. Main St. High Point, NC 27260. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at Westchester Manor for the loving care given to Lloyd.
