BRIGHT, ROGER NEAL, Age 64, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 7, 2006.
He was born in Dallas, Texas on February 14, 1942 to Gilbert L. and Marjorie Lee Bright. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School where he was Student Council President, attended Washington and Lee University and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1964.
He married his wife of 42 years, Rebecca Anne (Becky) Ransdell, on June 13, 1964.
He joined the accounting business which was begun by his father in 1945 and it then became Bright & Bright, LLP. He was later joined in the business by his son, G. Todd Bright and they enjoyed their partnership together until his death. He was a member of Brook Hollow Golf Club where he served as President of the Board in 1997, was a member of the Dallas Petroleum Club, the Dallas Wildcatters Association and Rainbo Club in Athens, Texas. At the time of his death, he was also a Board member of Bank of Texas.
He deeply loved his family, his many friends, his gin rummy game, Monday night at Dunstons, his fishing retreat in the East Texas piney woods and his beautiful place for meditation, Dogwood Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his father, and is survived by his mother, his wife, his son and his wife,and his daughter and her husband. He is also survived by his precious granddaughter, his sweet step grandchildren, and his sister, and her husband. He will be missed by his special friend, Melba Clark, and his beloved dog, Max.
After a private burial service, the funeral will take place Saturday, June 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Park Presbyterian Church.
