Andrew married Cora Jane McDowell on 27 February 1896 in Carter County, Kentucky. Their son William was born there, but the family returned to Gallia County, Ohio about 1900. Andrew was the son of Andrew Jackson and Emily Amelia Lumon Canterbury with siblings: William Levi, Enoch Harrison, Oliver Perry, Mary Jane, Nancy Ellen, Emma Evelyne, Elizabeth Helen, and Effie Alice. He was a farmer with an eighth grade education. Andrew died from a coronary thrombosis at the age of 80 years 7 months and 23 days.
