Mrs. Edith Pearl Bailey, 56 of 656 W. King street, died late yesterday in a hospital in Jacksonville where she had been a patient since Dec. 12.
Mrs. Bailey was born Sep. 9, 1889, in Moweaqua, the daughter of James and Ida Robertson. She married Elmer Bailey, who died here in Sept. 1936. They formerly lived in Lincoln. She was a member of the Four Square Gospel church.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Mallisa Covey and Joyce and Dorothy Bailey, Decatur, two sons and a daughter by a former marriage Richard G. Armstrong. Decatur, John S. Armstrong, N.Sacramento, Calif and Mrs.Elizabeth Lillie Washington D.C., three brothers, Bert and Carl Robetson, Decatur, Guy Robertson, Chicago, a half brother Arthur McCray, Decatur and four half sisters, Mrs. Savina Laughery, Mrs. Bertie Curtis, Mrs.Cora Nancy, all of Decatur and Mrs. Lucille Cole, Chicago.
The body was taken to the Moran & Sons funeral home, where friends may call after tomorrow evening. Arrangements are incomplete.
