Scientist. A psychiatrist and neurologist, he was born in Vienna, Austria. In the 1930s and 1940s, he was the head of General Hospital in Vienna and the neurological department of the Rothschild hospital. In 1942, he and his family were deported to several concentration camps, until his freedom in 1945. His wife and parents were murdered by the Nazis. This experience served for the stablishment of his theory named logotherapy. In 1945 he wrote his world famous book titled "Ein Psychologe erlebt das Konzentrationslager" (literal translation: "A Psychologist Experiences the Concentration Camp"; English title: Man's Search for Meaning),where describe the life of an ordinary concentration camp. In his career, he wrote more than 30 books. He died in Vienna. One of his quotes: "Since Auschwitz we know what man is capable of. And since Hiroshima we know what is at stake."
