The funeral for Beverly A. Nichols will be 1 pm Wednesday, April 22nd at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Pastor Milton LaSalle from the Denmark Baptist Church in Carthage officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 21st from 4 pm - 7 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Nichols, 87, former longtime resident of Dexter, died Saturday April 18th at the Samaritan Summit Village.
She was born in Brownville October 6, 1927, a daughter to Adelbert “Del” and Irene Keegan Fisher. Bev married Sherman F. Nichols December 31, 1960 in the Rectory of the Immaculate Conception Church in Brownville. Mrs. Nichols worked in the finishing room at Brownville Board for many years.
She enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband and sons. Following their retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Nichols spent winters at Gulf Shores, Alabama with her sister and brother-in-law. After Mr. Nichols’ death in December of 1996, Bev traveled with her brother and sister-in-law to Florida for several years.
Beverly is survived by her two sons, Adelbert “Del” Nichols, Adams Center and Michael Nichols, Watertown. Three grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Her sister Delores (Dolly) Toper, Watertown and her brother Charles E. Fisher, Watertown. Many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Samaritan Summit Village, 2nd floor, Neighborhood A Activities fund, 22691 Campus Dr., Watertown, NY 13601.
