John Baxter Swicegood age 74, of Maryville passed away on Wednesday, April 15th, 2015, at Blount Memorial Hospital.
He served in the United States Air Force, was retired from Alcoa Police Department after 28 years, the United States Marshals Service and currently working for the Knoxville PBA.
Preceded in death by parents, Cordell and Edith Swicegood; sisters, Linda Byrd and Louise Hughes; grandson, David Brooks Jr.; sister-in-law, Rose Swicegood; brother-in-law, Robert Wynn.
Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Mike Matlock, Edie and Larry Vickery; fiancé; Debbie McNelly; grandchildren, Orrin Matlock, John Weeks, David Weeks and Patsy Brooks; great grandson; Jaxson Weeks; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Larry Chambers; sister, JoAnn Wynn; brothers sisters in law, Henry and Renee Swicegood, Andrew Swicegood, Mike and SungAe Swicegood and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 2:00 PM Saturday, April 18TH 2015, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Rick Morgan officiating. Graveside and interment will follow at Clark's Grove Cemetery.
