Married to Virginia Mercer Henshaw in 1848, he fathered Edmund Maurice, "Willie" William Richard, Manley, "Lucy" Lucia Henshaw, Effie Virginia, "Maxey" Maxwell Gregg, and "Frank" Richard Franklin.
Killed by a fall from his horse a few months after war ended.

Present on all rolls with several family furloughs, thru 4/16/1862 when not re-elected in reorganization of Company; resigned commission/discharged.
