Viola Elizabeth (Harbaugh) Hardman, 77, of 331 Fairview Ave., Waynesboro, died Monday Aug. 3, 1992, in Waynesboro Hospital. Born July 27, 1915, in Emmitsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Alice (Eyler) Harbaugh.

Mrs. Hardman managed the neighborhood grocery store at the corner of Fourth Street and Hamilton Avenue in Waynesboro for many years as well as being one of the co-workers for Bricker's Service Station on North Church Street. She also had been employed at Fairchild in Hagerstown and Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro. She also worked as a cook at Raven Rock Lutheran Church Camp in Sabillasville.

She is survived by her husband, Harry A. Hardman; two daughters: Shirley L. Harbaugh of Sabillasville and Patricia Mae Mitchell of Waynesboro; two sons: Dennis L. Hardman of Gettysburg and Larry Eugene Hardman of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five sisters: Mary Ann Warren of Greenstone, Dorothy Dickey of Rouzerville: Jean Mobray and Betty Patterson, both of Hagerstown; and Geneva Flohr of Ringgold; and a brother: Carroll Harbaugh of Walkersville, Md.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the John Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Waynesboro, with the Rev. Eugene Cline officiating. Burial will be in Fountaindale Union Cemetery, Fairfield.
