Pleman D. Fliginger, 95, died Jan. 23, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita due to an auto accident on Jan. 20, 2010, in McPherson. He had lived at the Blasdel's home for eight years. He was born on Jan. 11, 1915, in Rice County on the Bitler farm, the son of Abraham and Amanda Schlabach Fliginger.
He was a Plevna resident most of his life.
On July 25, 1937, he married Valeda P. Zimmerman in Sterling. She preceded him in death on Nov. 3, 2008.
Survivors include: his five daughters, Sandra Blasdel and husband James of McPherson, Diane Balding and husband Lewis of Olathe, Sheryl Stabler and husband Dale of Lakeland, Fla., Marsha Drouhard and husband Billy of Hutchinson and Vanessa Foster of Kansas City; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory in Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Leon, a grandson, Tony, and two sisters, Violet Grubbs and Mildred Smith.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory in Hutchinson.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant View Cemetery in Huntsville with Pastor Rick Goertzen presiding. Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at Grace Bible Church in Hutchinson with Pastor Rick Goertzen presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon International, in care of the funeral home.
