GARFIELD SIMONS: WhiteOwl; died Friday [12-18] at his ranch home. Simons was born 17 Apr 1881 at Stewart NE & moved with his family to WY when he was 6yrs old. Two years later the family moved to the Dalzell area of MeadeCnty. A short time later they moved to a ranch near WhiteOwl where he had lived since. He was a member of the 1902 Round-Up Assn & active in its affairs.
He married May Priest at RapidCity 17 Apr 1912, she survives him. Other survivors include a son: Virgil-Enning; 3 daus: Mrs Shirley Arends & MrsJune Bauer-Enning; & MrsVera Denker-BelleFourche; a twin bro: Grant-WhiteOwl; a sis: MrsWealthly Calloway LancasterWI; 14 grandchildren & 6 gr grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday [12-22] in First Presbyterian Church. RevVern Ekerholm officiated, FrThomas Gorman officiated at the committal service. Special music was provided by George Minier & MrsElaine Owens. Pallbearers were Norman, Clark & Don Arends, Kent Bauer, Garry Denker & Gay Claymore. Arrangements under the direction of FO Jolley Funeral Home. Interment was in BearButte Cem.
