1903 August 5 - THE REVELLE, Lynn Creek, Camden County, Missouri - Another Pioneer Gone. Dudley Hix, 82 years of age, died of dysentery at his home near Nonsuch, MO. last Friday evening and was buried Saturday at Parrack Grove Cemetery. Mr. Hix was among the early pioneers of what is now west Camden County, and could relate many very interesting reminiscences of early days. He had resided in that locality nearly seventy years.
1903 October 14 - Wednesday CAMDEN COUNTY RUSTIC, Macks Creek, Camden County, Missouri, Volume 2, Number 2 - IN MEMORIUM - Dudley Hix, was born at Lexican, Missourim (should read Lexington Kentucky), January 15, 1821; and was married to Millie V. Parker, March the 28th, 1844; in Benton County, Missouri. From this marriage 15 children were born 8 boys and 7 girls; six boys and four girls are still living. Brother Hix professed a hope in Christ and joined the Baptist church in 1842; and he was a faithful member up to the time of his death, which was July 31st, 1903. Brother Hix was 72 years, six months and 16 days old when he died. In as much as it has pleased our Heavenly Father to call him from labor to rest. Resolved that the wife and children have lost a loving husband and father, the community an honored citizen; and Parrack Grove Church a faithful member. Resolved that a copy of these resolutions be spread on our records, and that a copy be sent to the Camden County Rustic for publication and the Reveille and News to please copy, and a copy given to Sister Hix, and that we extend our sympathy to the companion, children, and friends of deceased. 2002 September 29 - Sunday - Needra (Holland) Parks, wife of Arnold Parks, stated at the Hix (Hicks) Family Reunion held Sunday at the Ha Ha Tonka State Park near Camdenton, Camden County, Missouri that Dudley Hix and wife, Milly Victoria (Parker) Hix were buried at Parrack Grove Cemetery, Camden County, Missouri. Needra is the daughter of David "Ross" Holland and Mary Alameda (Appleton) Holland and the granddaughter of Martin Dave Holland and Dudlia Ann (Hix) Holland.
2002 October 2 - Wednesday - James Hinkle received from cousin Evelyn "Evie" Jerlene (Hinken) Gerhart a copy of a photo of Dudley Hix which was taken at Simpson's Studio, Climax Springs,Missouri; on the back of the photo is written Dud Hix. Evie's mother, Zelma Mae (Murphy) Hinken passed the photo to her which had been passed on from Evie's grandmother, Edna Parlee (Osbron) Murphy and to her from Rebecca Jane (Hix) Osborn.
2003 June 19 - Thursday - James Hinkle made application for a Military headstone for Dudley Hix at the Hedges Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. This headstone to be provided by the U.S. Government for all military personel at no cost for all military not having a headstone. The headstone will be set at the grave at Parrack Grove Cemetery by Don & Judy Varner when received by Hedges Funeral Home.
