Amber was born on March 2, 1975, to H. Clyde and Sherry (Metzler) Kocher in Fremont, Nebraska.
She grew up in the Elkhorn, Nebraska area and graduated with the 1993 class of Elkhorn High School.
She always had a deep love of working with animals, and after high school worked in the animal and veterinary industry throughout her life. Amber especially had a passion for horses and trail riding.
Amber Ann Wood, age 40, of Blair, Nebraska, died April 5, 2015, as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Valley, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nate Wood; father, H. Clyde Kocher; sister, Robin R. Kocher; special friend, Jason D. Miller.
She loved and laughed through life, and has passed her vigor on to her children: Brantley Goos, Tristan Goos, Gavin Wood, Charlie Wood and Wyn Wood; stepdaughter, MacKenzie Kemp; mother, Sherry Kocher; siblings: Edward Kocher, Steven (Sheila) Kuhr, Marie (Vince) Kruger, Russ (Sheila) Kocher, Stan (Veronica) Kocher, Kerry (Cecil) Henson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2:30 pm at the Arlington City Auditorium, 410 West Elm Street, in Arlington, Nebraska. Private burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery at a later time.
