Dorothy "Dot" Scroggins, 82, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, in a Fort Worth hospital.
Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jan Fletcher, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Bryson, officiating. Burial followed at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scroggins was born June 1, 1923, in Stephenville, Texas, to William Clay and Kate (Russell) Wallace. She married J.J. Scroggins Feb. 7, 1938, in Pecos, Texas. She moved from Graham to Bryson in 1975.
Mrs. Scroggins was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bryson and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, J.J. Scroggins of Bryson; one son, David Lee Scroggins and wife, Sherry of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, James Colwell and wife Rose, Robert Colwell, Cindy McCracken and husband Stan, Kevin Bentley and wife Julane, Allie Scroggins, Jennifer Glenn and husband Ed, Catrina Bombardier and husband Troy; 12 great-grandchildren, James W. Colwell, Kimberley Colwell, Ashley McCracken, William Cole McCracken, Chance, Conner, Cole, Stevie, Weston, Bailey, Dawson and Cody; and one great-great-grandchild, Layla Colwell.
Mrs. Scroggins was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Bentley, on Oct. 16, 2001.
