Adam McFall, 51, of Athens, crossed over the river on Monday, April 6, 2015, and is resting beneath the shade of the trees.

The son of the late Wade and Shirley McClure McFall, he was born in Sevier County and had spent the last 10 years in McMinn County. He was of the Methodist faith.

He enjoyed flea marketing, trading knives with friends, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his fiancé, Karla Masengil of Athens; was a fatherly figure to her daughters, Carrie and Rodney Steffa of Sweetwater, and Cassie Kile and husband, Chris, of Decatur; and was like a grandpa to Mayleigh, Karleigh, Lonna, Ayden and Rylee. Also surviving are sisters, Helen McFall, Lara McFall and Lisa Slauson of Wears Valley; and best friend, Roger Yarber of Athens. Several other extended family members and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Hatcher officiating.

Family and friends will assemble at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and will proceed to Cedar Grove Cemetery for the 2 p.m. committal service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
