Reichardt, Helen E.

Helen E. Reichardt, age 91, a resident at Laurel Grove Assisted Living, 1308 South 22nd Street, Manitowoc, formerly of 2230 South 11th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, where she had been residing for the past month.

Helen was born on April 14, 1923 in the town of Liberty, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Esther Thompson Schmidt. Helen attended Valders High School and graduated with the class of 1941. She had been employed locally with various grocery stores in the Manitowoc -Two Rivers area. On October 31, 1942 she married Leonard W. Reichardt at Valders West Church, Valders, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1987. Helen was a member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and the Alter Guild of the church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Pamela Reichardt, Manitowoc, WI; two sisters-in-law: Helen Schmidt, New Holstein, WI; Doris Reichardt, Manitowoc, WI; nieces and nephews to include: Rita (Lee) Conrad, Bonita Schmidt and special friend Mark, Janita Schmitz, Jeffrey Schmidt, Jeff Marshek, Larry (Kathie) Nelson, Charles Nelson, Randy (Julie) Nelson, and Scott Engels; along with other relatives and friends surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Esther Schmidt; husband: Leonard Reichardt; one sister: Gladys Engels; one brother: Oliver Schmidt.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, 1033 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Benjamin Schaefer and Rev. Christopher Hoppe. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
