Born in Cacahuatepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, he began his career as composer and triumphed with his song "Sabor a Mí" all around the world. He wrote more than 300 songs, such as "Amor Mío," "Celia," "Sabrá Dios," "Luz de Luna," "El Andariego," "Seguiré Mi Viaje," and "Se Te Olvida."
