Álvaro Carrillo

Death: Apr. 3, 1969

Composer, Singer. Born in Cacahuatepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, he began his career as composer and triumphed with his song "Sabor a Mí" all around the world. He wrote more than 300 songs, such as "Amor Mío," "Celia," "Sabrá Dios," "Luz de Luna," "El Andariego," "Seguiré Mi Viaje," and "Se Te Olvida." They have been performed by artists including Lucho Gatica, José José, Los Panchos, and Javier Solis. He died along with his wife in a car accident.  (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
