Walterboro SC, July 15 [1956] - Mrs. Mollie Trowell Saunders, 71, died Sunday [July 15, 1956] at the home of her son, Joe W. Saunders, at Estill after a long illness. The widow of Calvin G. Saunders of Colleton County, she was born in Colleton County, the daughter of the late N. J. Trowell and the late Elizabeth Fender Trowell, both of Colleton County. She was a member of the Lawtonville Baptist Church of Hampton County. Survivors include six sons, J. G. of Tampa FA, Joe W. of Estill, N. G. of Charleston, Dennis of Gary IN, Ladson of Charlotte and Cpl. Trowell Saunders of US Army in Germany; three daughters, Mrs. J. T. Outz of Charleston, Mrs. H. L. Regan of Lathonia GA, and Mrs. Jim Jordan of Wilmington NC; a half-brother, Roddick Trowell of Walterboro; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Sauls and Mrs. Earl Hiers of Waterboro and Mrs. A. A. Herndon of Ruffin; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Fred Parker Funeral Home. The State, July 16, 1956.
