PFC William B Price
Birth: Oct. 27, 1922
Garvin County
Oklahoma, USA
Death: Jun. 6, 2004
Jackson County
Arkansas, USA

Mr William Price was born October 27, 1922 in Lindsay Oklahoma. He departed this life bound for Glory June 6, 2004 In Newport , Arkansas. Mr Price and his second wife of 29 years had moved to Newport about 6 years before his death. William served in WWII in the Army from 1944-1946. He received several medals during his enlistment. William B Price married Berlene Deana Sweatt February 7. 1975 in Las Vegas Nevada and lived in different parts of Tulare County Calif during their marriage finally retiring for 6 years in Las Vegas Nevada. Mr Price was a heavy equipment operator and worked for Local Union 3 for 35 years traveling to different areas with his work, Deana usually traveling with him. They moved to Newport, Arkansas 6 years before his death due to health issues. William had 3 children from his first marriage, 1 daughter Beverly Patterson, 2 sons, Don Price & James Price. Deana had 4 children by her first marriage, 3 sons, Jimmy A. Sweatt, Fred L. Sweatt & Bud Sweatt, 1 daughter, Donna Sweatt French. William had 6 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. This was truly a well blended family as all the kids were grown when William and Deana married and got along well. William moved to Calif from Okla in 1942 right after his graduation from high school. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Clare Price, 2 stepsons, Jimmy A. Sweatt & Fred L. Sweatt, and a step-grandson, Shane Short. William was a kind and loving man though quiet and very laid back, hard to anger. His stepchildren accepted him as their second father although grown as their father passed away at 57 years old in 1981. However their dad and William met several times before their father's passing and got along very well with each other. I was his stepdaughter and love his daughter, Beverly just like a sister. Mom and I tried to take care of Pop who suffered from diabetes and Altzheimers until he had a stroke December of 2003 and our health diminished so badly we had to get help caring for him. We checked out the nursing home carefully before admitting him but I cant stress this enough, check & re-check and then check again because we learned this the hard way. Pop is loved and missed by family and all who ever met him. Rest in Peace, Pop, we will join you one day soon.
