William (Bill) James Allen
12-22-45 to 3-19-15
In 1962, age 17, William (Bill) James Allen joined the Army's 82nd Airborne Division and was stationed in the Dominican Republic, which is area very few know about due to the highly publicized and controversial Vietnam War. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1965 and joined the Navy's SEEBEES. After his military service, he served the Phoenix-Avondale community, for 25 years, as a Fireman/Paramedic, retiring in 2000. He moved to Dewey, Arizona where he built a 2-1/2 acre ranch, literally from the ground up.
Bill had a 'Heart Of Gold' and would 'Give The Shirt Off His Back' to help someone. He was talented, artistic, and a 'jack of all trades': Veteran, firefighter, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, HERO! He suffered through many illnesses throughout his life, but is now at peace. He will be missed!
Bill is survived by wife, Esther; sister Judy; son Steven; daughters, Sheila and Senthia; grandchildren, Audra, Nicole, Hayley and Micah; stepson Rod; stepdaughter Melissa; and son Cody. We Love You!
Service to be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015, at the Prescott National Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona.
Services entrusted to Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
