Minor Clifford Alden was born a son of Nial T. & Phebe (Myers) Alden. He married twice. First wife, unknown, but he stated he was married once before, when he applied for a marriage license for a second time. He married Osa Lynn (Hathaway) Rittenour on 12 October 1900, in Wood County, Ohio. Osa had been previously married and divorced, and was the mother of three children. The new marriage lasted about 10 years, and the couple finally separated. There were no children born to their union. During the marriage the couple lived in several communities in Michigan. Minor worked as a Blacksmith. After separating, Minor made his home with his
stepmother and brother Arthur, in Lake Odessa Michigan. He eventually went out to Washington State, where he worked as a Farm Laborer. He appears on the 1930 Census in Green Bluff Twp., Spokane Co., Washington. This was shortly before he passed away. Minor Alden is a step-gt. grandfather to me.

Inscription

Only a small stone brick bears the surname, Alden. and that was misinterpreted as Alder by the inscriber. (The N in Alden, possibly mistaken for the old fashion R?) The Office at Fairmont Cemetery, Record Book, records him as Minor C. Alden.
