Orville Bear Schnebly entered rest March 22, 2015 at his home in Snowflake, Arizona.
Orville was born in Cottonwood, Arizona on December 14, 1956. He found his family nine years later when he come as a foster child to Daniel and Anna Flake Schnebly. They loved him and prayed earnestly to be able to keep him in their home.
When he was twelve years old his parents were able to adopt him, and he was sealed to them for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Orville was a hard worker and a cheerful helper. From the time he learned the gospel he had great desires to serve a mission. Through the help of his brother-in-law, John McMullen, who was a native of New Zealand, he was able to travel to that land where he was called as a building missionary. He loved his two years there constructing church meeting houses and experiencing a new land and culture.
He made many friends and looked upon it as a highlight of his life. After his mission Orville worked well at many jobs in many places, including Arizona, California, Utah, Washington State and Alaska. He loved to travel and visited Japan, Hawaii, New York, Mexico and went on road trips with his extended family to historic places in the US.
He was very interested in learning about different cultures and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. Orville had a tender heart. He loved children and was a devoted uncle to more than one hundred nieces and nephews. He has now traveled to a land more lovely than any of the far off places he visited in mortality.
In the spirit world he has joined his beloved parents and older brothers Paul, James and Norman.
Orville is survived by his brothers Dan E., Harold, and Dwight as well as his sisters Gloria, Carolyn, Venene, Bonnie, Jeaneane, LaRee, Darla and Alfreda.
They wish him well on his journey, and look forward to a future reunion when they can hear him happily recount the things he is experiencing in this great new adventure.
