Shot down by Japanese forces on mission to
strike the Togian Islands, Dutch East Indies
(Indonesia).

Five crew members were Killed In Action, but
the pilot and four others survived and were
returned to active service.

Flt. Off. George O Vetter, Jr, navigator
T/Sgt. Frank L Savino, radio operator
S/Sgt. Jack W Smalling, photographer
