At one time he served this county as County Commissioner, and was filling that office at the time of the rebuilding of the court house. His long life covers an eventful span in the development of the county, state and nation, and a few men are permitted to enjoy more than four score years of life as did Jacob Balding. The funeral services were attended by a large concourse of relatives, neighbors and friends., The interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
