Mr. Flattery was found on a list of Civil War Veterans buried at Corpus Christi, but Find a Grave contributor, Leta Koll says that the cemetery has no record of this burial and no stone has been found. His pension indicates that he died in Webster County and two death notices were found indicating burial from Corpus Christi.

Joe Flattery died last evening at his home six miles east of town of heart trouble. Deceased was about 45 years of age, and one of Webster county’s prosperous farmers. The funeral will be held from Corpus Christi church.

Joseph Flattery of Colfax township died Wednesday of heart disease. Mr. Flattery has been a resident of Webster county, for a number of years past and leaves a large circle of friends. The funeral occurred from Corpus Christi church Friday at 10 o’clock.
