Joseph “Joe” Ahmann, 85, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, in Columbia, Mo.

He was born March 6, 1930, in Foxhome, N.D., to Leo and Harriet Brennan Ahmann.

On Dec. 18, 195, he married Sonya James,

Joe Ahmann graduated from Washington State University with a master’s degree in agriculture. He was a lifelong farmer and also a builder.

He was a longtime member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church.

Joe Ahmann was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sonya, on July 13, 2014; his siblings, Leona Mueller, Ann Coles, Con Ahmann and Katherine Ahman; a grandson, Samuel Treat; and a granddaughter, Chelsea Ahmann.

He is survived by a son, Jim Ahmann and his wife, Ranae, of Lebanon; a daughter, Terri Jo Stark and her husband, Mark, of Eldon; three brothers, Mike Ahmann and his wife, Mary, Dennis Ahmann and his wife, Kathy, and Jerry Ahmann and his wife, Rebecca; six sisters, Irene Moyer and her husband, Carlton, Rosie Nees, Mary Ellen Morrow, Alice Whitaker and her husband, Lee, Angie Mills and her husband, Gordon, and Charlotte Patrick and her husband, Jerry, all of Washington state; five grandchildren, Joe Ahmann and his wife, Falon, Rachel Grunst and her husband, Greg, Caitlin Ahmann, Sarita Thacker and her husband, Jarrod, and Clayton Melville; eight great-grandchildren, Livia, Kellen, Raylan and Ledger Ahmann, Mia Treat, Cora Daley, Jonathan and Adam Thacker; other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life funeral mass for Joe Ahmann is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, with Father David Miller officiating. Burial will be at a later date as his body is to be cremated per his request.

A Rosary service will precede the funeral mass on Tuesday. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Alzheimer’s Association.
