Linda W. Palmer, 75, of Winchester, wife of Ralph J. Palmer, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born on August 28, 1939 in Freemont, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Partee and Ola Hughes Whittington.
Mrs. Palmer was a retired bookkeeper from Palmer Engineering Company. She previously was an employee of the Clark County Board of Education, and treasurer of Clark County Christian School. She was a member of the Winchester First Church of God, 2500 Colby Road, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. While wintering in Florida, she attended McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Myers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Craig (Teresa) Palmer, Randy Palmer, R.J. (Tawana) Palmer, all of Winchester; eight grandchildren, Kelsey Palmer, Kline Palmer, Paityn Palmer, Lauren Palmer, Preslee Palmer, Paisley Kate Palmer, Brody Palmer and Addison Palmer; sisters Nancy Sewell of Winchester and Billie Copher of Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, John P. Whittington and Morley J. Whittington, and two sisters, Shirley Walker and Ruby Whittington.
Pallbearers will be Craig Palmer, Randy Palmer, R. J. Palmer, Kelly Whittington, Kline Palmer, and Kevin Palmer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. David Booth, Dr. Joseph Ott, Linda Centers, Linda Marcum, Vickie Boone, Edna Hisle, Melanie Gabbard, and Martha Mossbarger.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the First Church of God, 2500 Colby Road, conducted by Rev. Gary Brown, Rev. Frank Curtis, and Rev. V.P. Palmer. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015.
