Katherine Louise "Kay" Lemaster, 91, of Keokuk, passed away on March 18, 2015, at Keokuk Area Hospital.

Kay was born on September 15, 1923, to Walter John and Florence Hardin Howe in Keokuk. She was united in marriage to Walter Lemaster on December 24, 1944, in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1982.

Kay was a life-long resident of Keokuk and a member of First Baptist Church in Wayland, Missouri. She enjoyed the outdoors, particularly spending time on her flowers, working in her garden, and weeding. Some of her other hobbies included solving crossword puzzles and reading her Bible.

Kay is survived by her two daughters: Cheryl Luft of Keokuk and Sandra (Ted) Jingst of Warsaw; her sister Barbara Fortune of Des Moines; five grandchildren: Doug Luft, Kim (Thad) Sommers, Brandon (Sara) Lemaster, Nathan Lemaster and Jayla Jingst; and four great-grandchildren: Kenzle Luft, Amber Redmond, Jackson Lemaster and Gavin Lemaster.

Kay is preceded in death by her husband Walter, her son Roger, her granddaughter Jessica, her sisters Mary Florene Bryant and Elizabeth Anderson, and her brother Walter.

A celebration of her life will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 21, 2015, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street, with Pastor Dan Deatrick officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held after 10:00 PM Saturday until the time of the service.

A memorial fund has been established.
