He made his name at Sweden´s most leading theatres, and was directing several noted films as well; among them "Made in Sweden" (1969), "Baltutlämningen" (1970), "Hallo Baby" (1976), "Ett drömspel" (1980), "August Strindberg. Ett liv" (1985) and "Bryllupsfotografen" (1994). In 1973 he received the foremost Swedish film award, "Guldbaggen" (Best Director) for "Jag heter Stelios".
