He had lived in the area for 60 years, since 1901, and died at Gila General Hospital at the age of 84. He was a retired Forest Service employee, and made his home in Six Shooter Canyon. He was buried in the family plot. He was survived by his sons, Paul of Globe and Karl of Miami, daughter, Johanna Blevins (Roy) of Globe; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
