C. Jere Hochadel, age 78, of Salem, died at 1:41 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Emergency Room of the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born March 24, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio, son of the late John and Dorothy (Birch) Hochadel.

Before his retirement, Jere had been the owner/operator of Salem Drug from 1967 to 2002. He graduated from Salem High School in 1954 and Ohio Northern in 1959 with a BS Degree in Pharmacy. He was a member of the Salem First Christian Church and Salem Elks Lodge #305.

Jere loved playing tennis with his wife and enjoyed gardening, landscaping and the outdoors. He was a loving husband and father, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

His wife, Sandra Lee (Cunningham) Hochadel, whom he married September 24, 1960, survives him along with three sons, Keith (Sarah) Hochadel of Canton, Jeff (Wendy) Hochadel of Salem and Lee (Juli) Hochadel of Salem; a brother Jack (Nancy) Hochadel of Balboa Island, California; and nine grandchildren.

Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
