Marie N. Jaynes, 81, of China Spring, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, in Waco. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 12, in China Spring Cemetery with Rev. Michael Copeland officiating.

Marie was born in Bridgeport, Texas, to the late Luther and Audrey Lee (Early) Newton, the third born of eight girls and one boy. She was raised on a farm in Bosqueville where they had a horse, raised cows, pigs, and picked cotton.

On July 28, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Claude Jaynes. Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church of China Spring. She retired from American Amicable Life in 1999 after 44 years of service.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; sister, Mary Ann Kelley; brother, Gary Wayne Newton; and a grandson, Max High Jaynes.

Survivors include her husband, Claude E. Jaynes, of China Spring; sons, Wayne Jaynes and wife, Jamey, of Robinson, Jeff Jaynes, of China Spring, and Jason Jaynes and wife, Christy, of China Spring; granddaughters: Tiffany (Jaynes) Daughtry and husband, Matt, Jenna Jaynes and fiancé, Robert Buckner, Joanna Jaynes, Jesse Jaynes, Morgan Jaynes, Madison Jaynes, JessicaAnn Jaynes, and Rylie Parker; grandsons: Justin Jaynes, Mason Jaynes, Hunter Jaynes, Braden Jaynes, Austin Parker, Joey Brooks and Andrew Aleman; great-granddaughter, Reagan Daughtry; sisters: Doris June Fitzhugh, of Waco, Helen Ruth Mathis, of Tucson, Arizona, Lois Newton, of China Spring, Peggy Parks, of Austin, Nancy Taylor, of Las Vegas Neveda, and Jeannie and husband, Richard Melton, of Montbelview; sister-in-law, Liz Newton, of Waco; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
